The newly appointed National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) director for the Awutu Senya West District, Rayback Salifu Adams, has pledged to transform the agency’s operations and improve working conditions for its staff.

During a formal handing-over ceremony at the Awutu Bereku District Assembly, the director expressed concern over inadequate office facilities, stating that the office lacks essential furniture such as desks and tables.

He assured staff that he would take steps to address these challenges, creating a more conducive environment for effective disaster management.

In addition, he cautioned residents against constructing buildings in waterlogged areas, warning that such practices could lead to severe flooding during the rainy season. He emphasized the importance of preventive measures to safeguard lives and property.

Speaking at the event, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Officer, who represented the Central Regional NADMO Director, Cassious Otoo Larbi highlighted NADMO’s commitment to disaster response.

He stated that under the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama, NADMO operated around the clock to handle emergencies and mitigate the impact of disasters.

The new director’s promises signal a renewed focus on strengthening disaster preparedness and response in Awutu Senya West, ensuring that both staff and residents benefit from improved services.
