Residents of Kasoa New Town, located within the Gomoa East District, are urging authorities to demolish a fence wall that has blocked a critical water pathway, causing severe flooding whenever it rains.
Other victims expressed their frustration over the recurring disaster. They stated that they had reported the issue multiple times to the Gomoa East District Assembly, but no action has been taken.
One of the affected residents made an urgent appeal to the new NADMO Director, Hassan Amidu, calling on him to visit the site and witness their plight firsthand.
The residents alleged that members of the previous administration accepted bribes to grant construction permits despite issuing stop-work orders. Despite these warnings, construction at the site has continued, worsening the situation.
The community is now calling for immediate intervention to prevent further damage and ensure a safe and habitable environment.
