Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, has paid a working visit to Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) to assess progress on key infrastructure projects at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

During the tour, the Minister inspected ongoing construction of GACL’s new 11-storey head office, designed to offer modern office spaces, multipurpose areas, and conference rooms scheduled for completion in 24 months.

The facility aims to enhance operational efficiency within the aviation sector. He expressed satisfaction with the progress and urged contractors to meet the deadline.

Another highlight of the visit was the repurposing of Terminal 2, a strategic initiative to support both domestic and international travel while easing congestion at Terminal 3.

With Phase 1 completed and Phase 2 set for completion by year-end, this transformation will maximize unused spaces and accommodate the increasing number of airlines choosing Ghana as a preferred destination.

The Minister wrapped up his visit with an engagement session with GACL staff, reinforcing the government’s commitment to strengthening Ghana’s aviation industry and improving passenger experience.
