NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako known as Chairman Wontumi made an appearance at the party’s national headquarters in Accra on June 3, a day after his release from EOCO custody after meeting his bail conditions, following a week-long detention.
Upon arrival, he was greeted by jubilant supporters and publicly thanked the party leadership and members for their support during his ordeal.
Addressing the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, he thanked him for his support, contribution and leadership throughout his distress.
“I had to come and show how grateful I am. May God bless you. Everything will be fine,” Wontumi said.
Chairman Wontumi was granted GH₵50 million bail with two sureties after his May 27 arrest over alleged fraud and money laundering investigations.
