The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has issued a warning to the government over delays in implementing a new salary structure and improved conditions of service for its members.

In a letter dated June 12, 2025, addressed to the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, CLOGSAG emphasized the increasing pressure from its members regarding the implementation of a unique salary structure for staff of the Civil Service and Local Government Service.

The Association expressed frustration over the government’s inaction despite previous correspondences and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).

The statement highlighted that, the National Executive Council (NEC) of CLOGSAG convened an emergency meeting on Thursday, June 12, 2025, during which they resolved that the Ministry must ensure effective implementation of the new salary regime. Referring to prior letters dated December 20, 2024, and May 6, 2025, CLOSSAG reiterated the urgency of the matter.

According to the letter signed by Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo, CLOGSAG expects a concrete and positive response from the government within two weeks, specifically from Monday, June 16 to Monday, June 30, 2025.

The letter warned that failure to initiate the implementation of the new salary structure would leave the Association with no option but to embark on a nationwide strike.

Attachments to the letter include references to unfinished negotiations on the salary structure, highlighting documents from December 2024 and May 2025 that remain unresolved.
