NPP Chairman Stephen Ntim’s Family Requests Temporary Withdrawal from Party Duties Over Health Concerns

The family of Stephen Ayensu Ntim, National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has officially requested his temporary withdrawal from all party activities due to urgent health concerns.

In a letter dated June 16, 2025, and addressed to the NPP Council of Elders, Mr. Ntim’s family cited deteriorating health, describing his condition as involving “cognitive dissonance and mental incapacitation.” They warned that continued political engagement could further jeopardize his well-being.

“Steve is not well at the moment,” the letter stated, emphasizing the need for immediate medical attention and rest.

The letter, signed by Kingsley Oteng (Family Head) and Adelaide Ntim (MP), urged the party to excuse Mr. Ntim from the upcoming June 17 meeting at the Alisa Hotel, which he was expected to chair.

“Common sense dictates that Steve, as a matter of urgency, be temporarily excused not only from the rigours of active politics but from intra-party activities to make way for needed peace, solace, and focus on his ongoing medical treatment,” the family wrote.

While reaffirming their respect for Mr. Ntim’s long-standing dedication to the NPP, the family appealed to party leadership to respond with compassion and understanding during this difficult period.
