The Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, is demanding swift action from the Northern Electricity Distribution Company, NEDCo, over persistent power outages in the region.

During a visit to the VRA/NEDCo office in Goaso, the minister expressed frustration over the impact of the erratic power supply on residents and businesses.

She noted that the outages are severely disrupting economic activities, especially for those who rely on electricity to run their operations.

Charity Gardiner stressed that regardless of the cause, NEDCo and VRA must find urgent solutions. She lamented that the situation, if it persists, will cause residents to lose confidence in the government’s ability to manage the power sector.

In response, Ahafo NEDCo Manager, Ato Kwamena Mensah, blamed the outages on faulty transformers across the region.

He dismissed claims that he is deliberately sabotaging power supply to make the government unpopular.

Mr. Mensah assured the minister that he has already reported the issue to his superiors and promised a resolution in the shortest possible time.
