The management and partners of Happy 98.9 FM have paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu at his residence in New Fadama. The visit followed the successful conclusion of the 2025 SalahFood FEST cooking competition which took place at the forecourt of the National Chief Imam on July 28, 2025.
The delegation was led by Mr. Ernest Boateng, Group CEO of Global Media Alliance, and included key stakeholders from the radio station and its corporate partners. The visit took place on the sidelines of the SalahFood FEST competition and was aimed at strengthening the relationship between the media house and the Muslim community.

Speaking about the visit, Mr. Ernest Boateng expressed gratitude to the National Chief Imam. “We are honoured to pay our respects to His Eminence and thank him for his continued support,” he said.
The 2025 edition of SalahFood FEST witnessed enthusiastic participation from competitors drawn from various Zongo communities including Nima, Mamobi, Sabon Zongo, Fadama, and Ashaiman. Participants showcased their culinary skills in a vibrant competition that celebrated the rich food culture of these communities while competing for amazing prizes provided by Happy 98.9 FM and its partners.
The courtesy call underscored the mutual respect between the media organization and the religious leader, highlighting the importance of maintaining strong community relationships.
The delegation included other notable figures from the media house and its partners. Bridget Mensah, Head of PR, Marketing and Events at Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC), was part of the team alongside Prince Poakwa Ayim Brown, Acting Head of Sports, Bismark Brown, host of Epahoadaben, and Kwabena Boafo, host of Ayiye Mmre.
Corporate partners who supported the initiative were also represented during the courtesy call. Representatives from Tasty Tom, Fortune Margarine, Frytol Cooking Oil, and Jibu Water, all sponsors of the Happy FM SalahFood FEST competition, joined the delegation to pay their respects to the National Chief Imam.
The National Chief Imam, on his part, expressed gratitude to Happy FM and its partners for their continued commitment to community engagement and cultural celebration. He praised the initiative for its role in bringing people together and promoting peaceful coexistence among Ghana’s diverse communities. His Eminence also requested support and collaboration for upcoming activities, including the National Maulid celebration which commemorates the birth of Prophet Mohammed.
“We appreciate the opportunity to continue building bridges with community leaders like His Eminence,” Mr. Boateng added.
The SalahFood FEST has grown over the years to become one of the most anticipated community events, combining entertainment, culture, and healthy competition while strengthening bonds within and across Zongo communities throughout Ghana.
