Special Advisor to the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat, Goosie Tanoh, has described Ghana’s newly launched 24-Hour Economy as a dynamic, evolving policy framework rooted in science and anchored in social democratic values.

Speaking at the official launch on Wednesday, Mr. Tanoh emphasized that the initiative is designed to adapt to Ghana’s shifting economic landscape and respond to emerging challenges with flexibility and innovation.

“We see the 24-hour programme as a living programme, rooted in science and firm social democratic principles, but flexible enough to respond tactically to a changing environment”.

Mr. Tanoh underscored the importance of continuous learning and stakeholder engagement in shaping the programme’s success.

“We will learn many lessons along the way and make numerous adjustments. This is the only way a programme can transform our society in the short, medium, and long term,” Mr. Tanoh shared.

He welcomed constructive criticism and public input, stating that the Secretariat is committed to refining the policy through open dialogue.

Mr. Tanoh also praised President John Dramani Mahama for his leadership in championing the initiative.

“We can say without a doubt that our President is a true champion of responsible entrepreneurship and national transformation,” he declared.

He called for national unity and optimism, “We, as a country, we, as a people, have what it takes to succeed.”

The 24-Hour Economy policy one of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s flagship promises aims to boost productivity, create jobs, and position Ghana as a globally competitive economy through round-the-clock operations in key sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, healthcare, and tourism.
