In a tragic twist of events, the Ghana Police Service has made significant arrests following the brutal murder of 58-year-old Lebanese national, Omar Mikati, at his East Legon residence on Friday, June 20, 2025.

Mikati was discovered lifeless in a pool of blood, with early investigations indicating that the perpetrators had made off with his Samsung phone oddly leaving behind two iPhones and a GCB Bank ATM card.

That abandoned ATM card, inscribed with the name Paul Twumasi Ankrah, proved pivotal. Acting on the lead, police apprehended Ankrah in Samsam Medie, where he allegedly confessed to his role and identified an accomplice, Asiedu Henning, also known as Nana Kofi Anum.

Henning was later arrested on July 2 in Kutunse, reportedly leading police to the recovery of a knife believed to have been used in the attack.

Both men are now in custody, having been remanded by the Adabraka District Court 1, with their next court appearance slated for Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Investigations remain ongoing as authorities work to piece together the motive and full extent of the crime.
