The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has dismissed claims surrounding the establishment of an Igbo village or kingdom within his constituency by a Nigerian traditional leader.
In a post on his Facebook page, the MP firmly stated that no individual holds the title of “king” or possesses any kingdom or land in the Ningo-Prampram area.
He cautioned the public to disregard such assertions, describing them as unfounded.
“No ‘King’ has any kingdom or land in the Ningo-Prampram Constituency. Disregard any such claims. The ancient Great Ningo kingdom is welcoming to all who visit us but none is welcome to lay claim to a kingdom here,” Sam George noted, emphasizing that while the people of Ningo are known for their hospitality, it should not be mistaken for weakness.
He called for calm amid the growing conversation around the reported plans, assuring that the community remains peaceful but will not tolerate any form of territorial or traditional encroachment.
“Rest assured, we are a hospitable people but our hospitality CANNOT be taken for granted. Let calm prevail,” he added.
