The National Youth Authority (NYA) has announced a strategic partnership with Ghana’s leading youth-focused radio station, YFM, to mark this year’s International Youth Day which falls in the month of August.

This collaboration was formalized during a courtesy call by the management of YFM Triangle (Accra 107.9fm, Kumasi 102.5fm and Takoradi 97.9fm), under Global Media Alliance, to the Chief Executive Officer of NYA, Mr. Osman Abdulai Ayariga on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

The visit aimed to strengthen ties between the two institutions and foster youth development through engaging and impactful programming throughout the month.

Mr. Ayariga expressed his profound appreciation to YFM for coming on board, describing the partnership as timely and essential for youth empowerment in Ghana.

He also called on all young people across the country to actively take part in the upcoming Youth Month activities.

“I am grateful to YFM and the Global Media Alliance team for this initiative. This partnership to celebrate Youth Month starting from August reflects our shared commitment to amplify the voices of Ghanaian youth and create platforms for their development,” Mr. Ayariga stated.

He emphasized that National Youth Month will feature a wide range of programs and activities, including a clean-up exercise, the “Stop Red Campaign” against drug abuse, and initiatives aimed at curbing youth-related violence.

He noted that when the youth are empowered and engaged, it fosters peace and harmony in the country.

Also the Director of Broadcasting at Global Media Alliance, Dr. Timothy Karikari, expressed gratitude to the NYA for the warm reception and support.

He stated that, as the leading youth radio station in Ghana, they found it necessary to collaborate with the National Youth Authority to highlight issues concerning the welfare of Ghanaian youth, given that the Authority is constitutionally mandated to promote and protect youth development.

He reaffirmed YFM’s commitment to delivering exciting and impactful content throughout August.

“As Ghana’s leading youth radio station, we found it essential to collaborate with the National Youth Authority to shine a spotlight on issues affecting the welfare of the Ghanaian youth, especially since the NYA is constitutionally mandated to champion their development and well-being. Youth Month is an important period on our calendar. This year, we’re bringing the best programs and activities that speak directly to the interests, aspirations, and talents of Ghana’s youth,” Dr. Karikari assured.
