Operations at the Hohoe Municipal office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) were brought to a sudden standstill after Wodey Samuel, the Constituency Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), locked up the facility in protest.

Wodey reportedly took the drastic action after a role he had initially declined the Municipal NADMO Director position, and was officially handed to his deputy, Raphael Kumaga.

Branding the move as a betrayal of party procedure and “injustice,” Wodey demanded that the appointment be reversed before normal activity could resume.

Interestingly, sources within the NDC revealed that Wodey had earlier rejected the NADMO role in favour of pursuing an opportunity at the Bank of Ghana office in Hohoe.

However, following his unsuccessful application, he attempted to reclaim the NADMO post, only to find it already filled.

The incident has drawn criticism from both party insiders and local residents.

A former party executive emphasized the tension within the constituency, while residents expressed concern over how the closure might affect disaster preparedness.

So far, municipal authorities have not made any official statement, but calls for swift intervention are mounting as Hohoe awaits a resolution to the political standoff.
