Finance Minister to present 2024 Mid-Year Budget Review on July 24

The Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, will present the 2024 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

The Deputy Majority Leader, George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, announced the date while delivering the Business Statement for the eighth week of parliamentary work, ending Saturday, July 19.

He said the presentation complies with Section 28 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921) and will update the nation on the performance of the 2025 budget and the country’s economic and fiscal outlook for the first half of the year.

Mr. Ricketts-Hagan also revealed that Parliament currently has 61 referrals before 16 different committees and urged them to work on their reports promptly.

He further disclosed that the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, will appear before the House on Tuesday, July 15, to brief members on the demolition of properties at the Sakumono Ramsar Site.

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, is also expected to brief Parliament on Thursday, July 17, regarding the recent 2.5% hike in electricity tariffs announced by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC).
