Afenyo-Markin has taken a sharp aim at the Mahama-led NDC administration, accusing it of failing to curb illegal mining (“galamsey”), politicizing the judiciary, fuel price hikes and orchestrating violent incidents, including the Ablekuma North by-election clash.

“Their vow to reset our nation has become a brazen assault on our judiciary,” he said.
“The questionable Ablekuma North rerun… exposed their willingness to trample democracy with violence.”

While acknowledging the NPP’s shortcomings, Afenyo-Markin defended the record of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, attributing the party’s loss to global crises like COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war.

“No government in our democratic history faced this scale of compounded crisis, yet Nana Akufo-Addo held the line,” he declared.

He accused the current administration of repackaging NPP successes as its own, stating.

“Let no one be deceived. The foundation they are standing on was laid by this party.”
