The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, has reaffirmed the enduring impact of Ghana’s Free Senior High School (FSHS) policy, describing it as a game-changer in expanding access to secondary education.

Speaking at the 7th Quadrennial Conference of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) for the Eastern Region, held at Kibi Presbyterian College of Education, Dr. Agyemang highlighted the policy’s far-reaching effects.

“There is no question that Ghana has made significant strides in expanding access to education over the past decade. The FSHS policy, a flagship intervention of the NPP government, has altered the trajectory of countless households,” he said.

According to the MP, the policy has especially benefitted children from rural and underprivileged communities, allowing them to access secondary education at unprecedented levels.

Dr. Agyemang emphasized that Free SHS has not only opened doors for thousands of students but has also restored hope for families once constrained by poverty.

He further assured stakeholders that the initiative is a permanent feature of Ghana’s educational landscape.

“Free SHS is a legacy no future administration can ignore or reverse. It has come to stay,” he declared.
