The Ministry of the Interior has revised curfew hours for Nalerigu Township and nearby communities in the East Mamprusi Municipality of Ghana’s North East Region.
According to a statement signed by Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak on behalf of the Ministry, the new curfew will be in effect from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., starting Thursday, July 31, 2025.
This decision follows recommendations from the National Security Council and has been formalized under an Executive Instrument.
Residents are reminded that a ban on the possession of firearms, ammunition, and other offensive weapons remains in force. Anyone found violating this directive will face arrest and legal action.
The government is urging traditional authorities, youth groups, and the general public to remain calm and resolve conflicts through peaceful and lawful means.
