Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey took part in his first training session with Villarreal on Thursday, August 8, 2025, following the completion of his move to the La Liga club.

Partey joined his new teammates for the morning session, participating in various drills as Villarreal continue their preparations for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

The former Arsenal midfielder appeared focused and motivated, taking part in passing exercises, dribbling, shooting, and physical conditioning routines.
A video of the session, shared on Villarreal’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on August 8, quickly gained attention, with fans praising Partey’s energy and sharpness on the training ground.

Villarreal officially announced Partey’s signing on their social media platforms on Wednesday, August 7, confirming that the 32-year-old had agreed to join the club.

“Villarreal CF and Thomas Partey have reached an agreement for the Ghanaian footballer to join the Yellows ahead of the 2025/26 season. The player will join up with his new team tomorrow at the Training Ground,” the club posted.

Partey arrives as a free agent after his contract with Arsenal expired in June 2025. His addition is expected to bring valuable experience and solidity to Villarreal’s midfield as they gear up for a demanding campaign.
