Felix Afena-Gyan completes loan move to Turkish side Amedspor

Ghanaian striker Felix Afena-Gyan has completed a season-long loan move to Turkish second-tier side Amedspor from Cremonese, with the deal including an option to buy at the end of the campaign.

This becomes the 22-year-old’s second loan spell since joining Cremonese in 2022. Last season, he featured for Juventus Next Gen in Italy’s Serie C, where he rediscovered his scoring touch with 10 goals in 30 appearances.

Amedspor confirmed the deal on Wednesday, stating:

“Our club has signed a one-year loan agreement with an option to buy for the 2025/26 season with professional footballer Felix Ohene Afena-Gyan. We believe he will make significant contributions under our green-and-red jersey, and we wish him success.”

Afena-Gyan’s career has had its ups and downs since leaving AS Roma. In his debut Serie A season with Cremonese, he managed 23 appearances but only eight starts before injury setbacks slowed his progress. A fractured leg ruled him out for much of the following campaign in Serie B.

Now fit and hungry, the Black Stars forward will be hoping his new chapter in Turkey reignites his career and puts him back in the spotlight.
