The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has assured residents of Sikaman-Brofoyedu that government support is on the way for those who helped recover the remains of eight victims from the recent helicopter crash.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Amoakohene acknowledged the community’s vital role and promised recognition and opportunities.
“We are picking the database of all the youth who helped us on the incident of the plane crash. We are going to reach out to them. Even that process has started already”.
He added that plans are underway to visit the community with the District Chief Executive to personally express gratitude and discuss job opportunities.
“We will definitely show appreciation and other job opportunities that we have discussed with the central government. We applaud them for their work, just that they need to give us time.”
Residents had voiced concern over being overlooked despite their efforts in transporting the bodies from the crash site to the community before they were moved to Accra.
