Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Dr Bryan Acheampong, has officially entered the race to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2026 presidential primaries.

Submitting his nomination forms, Dr. Acheampong pledged unwavering commitment to both party and country, stating, “I have been tested in difficult times, and I have delivered.”

Addressing supporters, the former Minister for Food and Agriculture reflected on his journey from humble beginnings to public service, sharing, “I come from Mile 7, raised in the bathrooms by a teacher who struggled to raise three children. From there, I’ve built reputable businesses and a career in politics.”

Dr. Acheampong emphasized his belief in the power of opportunity and his readiness to serve with clarity, energy, and duty.

With experience spanning grassroots activism, policy development, and ministerial leadership, he positioned himself as a candidate grounded in service and vision.

“I understand the potential of Ghana, and I believe in the potential of our people.”

The NPP’s presidential primaries is scheduled for January 31, 2026, with several contenders expected to join the race .
