Former Education Minister and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has pledged to run a clean and respectful campaign as he seeks to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2026 general elections.

Dr. Adutwum made the commitment on Thursday, August 28, after filing his nomination forms at the party’s headquarters in Accra to contest the NPP flagbearership race.

He emphasised that his campaign would be grounded in ideas and policies rather than personal attacks.

“We will shape the foundation of our party and the nation. I come to this process with humility. I am going to run a very clean campaign, one that will talk about what I have done and what I will do for my party and for my nation. A campaign without acrimony, without insults, and full of respect. That is what my campaign will be about,” he said.

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum now joins the list of prominent contenders vying for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position. Other notable aspirants include, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Former Vice President of Ghana, Kennedy Agyapong, Former MP for Assin Central, Bryan Acheampong, MP for Abetifi and former Minister of Food and Agriculture, Kwabena Agyapong, Former NPP General Secretary

The NPP’s flagbearer election is scheduled for January 31, 2026, and is expected to be highly competitive. Dr. Adutwum has pledged to run a clean and respectful campaign, focusing on ideas and policies rather than personal attacks.
