The Black Stars of Ghana are eyeing another crucial step toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup as they prepare to leave Accra on Tuesday, September 2, for N’Djamena, where they face Chad in a must-win qualifier.

Ghana have been sharpening their tools in Accra ahead of the trip, with twelve players putting in the work at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday before the full squad assembles for departure.

Senior members present included captain Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Elisha Owusu, and Gideon Mensah.

The others are Benjamin Asare, Joseph Anang, Jerry Afriyie, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Jonas Adjetey, Ibrahim Sulemana, and Ibrahim Osman.

The team will have one final training session in N’Djamena on Wednesday to fine-tune preparations before Thursday’s showdown.

The stakes are high. Sitting on top of Group I with 15 points from six games, five wins and just one defeat the Black Stars know that victory at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno will push them closer to a fifth World Cup appearance. Kick-off is set for 1 pm on Thursday, September 4.

After Chad, Ghana will have two more hurdles to clear in October against the Central African Republic and Comoros as they chase their World Cup dream.
