Barima Twumasi Bekoe II, the Twafourhene of the Dormaa Traditional Area, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to fulfill his campaign promise to construct and rehabilitate roads in the Dormaa Central Municipality. He noted that poor road networks have long posed challenges to both motorists and pedestrians in the area.

The appeal was made during the Bono Regional Minister’s familiarization tour of Dormaa Central. Barima Twumasi Bekoe II stressed the urgent need for infrastructure improvement, citing the impact of deplorable roads on daily life, including limited access to essential services and increased safety risks.

He further urged the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive, Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, to deploy DRIP equipment to rehabilitate deteriorating roads and make them passable while awaiting the government’s broader construction works, as pledged during previous campaign activities.

Touching on healthcare delivery, the traditional leader encouraged government officials to make routine visits to health facilities to gain firsthand insight into the challenges facing staff. He said this would help secure lasting solutions and enhance the provision of quality healthcare services.

Barima Twumasi Bekoe II also appealed to the NDC government to prioritize completion of Dormaa Central’s share of the NPP’s Agenda 111 hospital projects, specifically the facility in Amasu, to improve healthcare delivery in the municipality.

Responding to the concerns, Bono Regional Minister Joseph Addae Akwaboa assured residents that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government remains committed to fulfilling all campaign promises before the end of its tenure. He emphasized that unlike others, the NDC does not make false or misleading promises.

On the Agenda 111 policy, the minister stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government was unable to complete even one of the hospitals during its term. He added that President Mahama has agreed to transfer ongoing facilities to missions interested in owning hospitals, with government support, to ensure completion and effective utilization of the projects.
