Globally recognized rap superstar, Sarkodie has revealed that his choice to hold Rapperholic in Kumasi this year is based on the deep connection his music has with the people of Kumasi.

The headline act of Rapperholic 2025 in an interview on Y102.5’s Myd Morning Radio Show described the music he makes as the type that crosses tribal boundaries across Ghana. “I make good music so people relate whether they understand fully or not.” he said.

With a trademarked flow of the Akan language rhythmically blended with English, Sarkodie however noted that the people of the Ashanti Region – specifically Kumasi are able to appreciate his music more as compared to people from other regions. “You have to know, I am an Ashanti so the Twi in my music is intense; the best place you’re going to get the reception and where they understand everything you’re saying is back home and that’s Kumasi.”

Sarkodie noted Kumasi as the place which presents him with a significant kind of love and support, set to carry him through for his headlining show Rapperholic: The Home Coming on Saturday September 27, 2025 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
