The Former Greater Accra Regional NPP Youth Organizer Moses Abor, has urged President John Dramani Mahama and his administration to redirect their efforts from arresting NPP members to resolving the long-standing Bawku conflict.

Speaking to the media during the NPP’s Yɛn Suro Ahunahuna demonstration in Accra on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Abor condemned what he described as the misuse of state security against opposition members.

He cited the case of the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, who he said was unlawfully detained without evidence.

Mr. Abor stressed that issues such as the galamsey menace and the Bawku conflict, which the government had promised to address, are the real concerns of Ghanaians, not the harassment of political opponents.

“Look at what is going on, Galamsey all over. The backyard of the President, people are running away like guinea fowl, and they are in Burkina, seeking refuge. You go to Bawku and fight is still ongoing. He said, When he comes, he will solve the problem. That is what we want the President and the government to be doing not to be arresting an innocent people,” he said.

He further appealed to the media to speak out against such injustices, warning that while he may be the target today, journalists themselves could become victims tomorrow.
