President of the United States, Donald Trump delivered the opening speech to member states at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting with a keen focus on their individual developments by employing nationalism within their own countries.
The idea of each nation setting major interests in it’s advancements was coupled with other pressing issues such as the Russia-Ukraine war and the increasingly alarming death toll in Gaza.
Trump in his fifty five-minutes speech dismissed the UN as ineffective on account of its failure to live up to its potential and for being ineffective at resolving global conflicts.
Trump revealed that efforts of the U.S have driven victory for Ukraine into a likely trajectory, saying he now believes Kyiv can win back all of its territory from Russia militarily.
European allies hailed Trump’s shift on Ukraine, with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy saying he was surprised by the change, but believed it means the US will stand by his country as it repels Russia’s invasion.
