The All Stars team have emerged champions of the 2025 Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) Inter-intake soccer competition after a spirited campaign that ended with a 2-0 victory over defending champions Intake 13.

The final, played on Sunday, September 21, at the McDan Astroturf Park in Labadi, brought together personnel from different intakes of the Service, showcasing not only footballing talent but also the unity and camaraderie that sports inspire.

All Stars, made up of senior officers who passed out between 2006 and 2009, showed their experience and composure throughout the competition, eventually sealing the trophy in style against the much-fancied defending champions.

Speaking after the triumph, team captain Devine Mensah — who also serves as Officer in Charge of Stores at the Immigration Academy Training School — said their victory was a deliberate statement of authority.

“Our first game was a bit slow, but we sent a message to all the other teams that we were coming for the trophy, and that’s exactly what we did. The coach tried a few systems in that opening match, but from the second game onwards, we hit full gear,” he explained.

He added that beyond the bragging rights, the competition remains an important initiative to build stronger bonds among officers of the Service.

The GIS Inter-intake soccer competition continues to serve as a platform to promote teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition among personnel across the various intakes.
