The only track record of Abronye DC is losing 11 Parliamentary seats in the Bono Region to NDC- Salia Malory

The Bono Regional Youth Coordinator for the Kennedy Agyapong campaign, Salia Issah Malori, has taken a swipe at the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, over comments suggesting that polling station executives who fail to support his preferred candidate could face intimidation and possible removal from the party’s album ahead of the presidential primaries.

Mr. Malori described Abronye’s posture as “unacceptable” and called on the leadership of the party to condemn his actions, stressing that the NPP does not belong to any individual.

“The NPP is not the property of one person. Abronye has no ownership in the party, and his actions must be checked if we are to maintain unity and order,” he stated.

The Youth Coordinator further accused Abronye of presiding over the decline of the NPP in the Bono Region, noting that under his leadership, the party lost nearly all parliamentary seats in the area to the opposition NDC, retaining only one.

Mr. Malori recalled that despite what he described as intimidation during the 2023 presidential primaries, Kennedy Agyapong remained resolute, and his supporters rallied behind the party in the general elections. He therefore rejected any suggestion that their camp would boycott party activities, stressing that they remain committed to campaigning for the NPP.

However, he warned that the campaign team will resist any form of intimidation from what he called “self-serving individuals” within the party, pointing to the resignation of Hon. Alan Kyerematen as a cautionary example of the consequences of internal oppression.

Mr. Malori also emphasized that the upcoming primaries will be a contest between grassroots members and government appointees, insisting that the grassroots, who make up about 95% of delegates, are firmly behind Kennedy Agyapong.

“For the first time, the grassroots are presenting their own candidate, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, against the traditional Danquah-Dombo-Busia establishment. This will be a defining contest,” he declared.
