The National Identification Authority (NIA) has officially commenced the issuance of Ghana Cards to children aged 6 to 14, starting today, Monday, October 6, 2025.

In the first phase of the exercise, cards will be distributed in 56 selected districts to children who have already completed the registration process. The distribution will take place at the same schools where the initial registration was carried out.

Parents and guardians are required to present the registration receipt Form A issued during the initial enrollment to collect the cards.

The NIA has assured the public that it has cleared all backlogs related to Ghana Card printing, allowing for a smooth and timely rollout of the child registration programme. It also confirmed that additional districts will be covered in the coming days.

For children who have not yet been registered, the NIA stated that new registration dates will be announced soon.

The Authority is calling on all parents and guardians to cooperate fully with officials to ensure a smooth and successful nationwide exercise.
