The campaign team of Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has firmly dismissed social media reports suggesting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful has been disqualified from the party’s upcoming primaries.

Circulating claims alleged that Mr. Agyepong failed to pay a mandatory GHC4 million development fee, reportedly flagged in the vetting committee’s submission to the National Council and National Executive Committee.

However, no official statement has been issued by the party confirming such a disqualification.

In a press release dated Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the Agyepong campaign described the allegations as “false, unfounded, and misleading,” urging the public and supporters to disregard them entirely.

The statement clarified that Mr. Agyepong had successfully completed the vetting process conducted by the NPP Presidential Elections Committee and had received a formal invitation to participate in the balloting exercise scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025, at the party’s headquarters in Asylum Down.

“Mr. Agyepong remains a qualified, dedicated, and loyal aspirant committed to upholding the democratic values of the New Patriotic Party and contributing to Ghana’s progress,” the campaign emphasized.

The team further condemned the rumours as deliberate misinformation aimed at distracting from the unity and momentum of their campaign, reaffirming their commitment to promoting integrity, service, and renewal within the party and the nation.
