The National Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that its Ad Hoc Committee, established to oversee the conduct of the party’s presidential campaigns, has officially begun its work.

In a press statement issued on Thursday, October 9, the Council urged all aspiring presidential candidates, their campaign teams, and party supporters to cooperate fully with the Committee and to uphold the principles of respect, discipline, and issue-based campaigning.

The Committee, chaired by Ing. Dr. Kwasi Abeasi, has been tasked with monitoring the public actions, statements, and engagements of presidential aspirants and their teams.

Its primary goal is to ensure internal peace and unity within the party as it prepares for the presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.

The statement further indicated that party members, supporters, and the general public should report any utterance, conduct, or social media post from a candidate, spokesperson, or campaign team member that could be considered offensive, divisive, or likely to incite disunity within the party to the Committee for appropriate action.

The Council emphasized that maintaining the unity and cohesion of the NPP is of utmost importance, not only during the primaries but also throughout the period leading to the 2028 general elections.
