The Network of Women in Broadcasting (NOWIB) proudly celebrates the appointment of its Founder and Patron, Nana Yaa Konadu Yiadom, to serve on the reconstituted Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Media Awards Committee.
The announcement was made by the National Executive of the Ghana Journalists Association in a letter dated 7 October 2025, inviting Nana Yaa Konadu to serve on the prestigious committee that will oversee the 29th GJA Media Awards scheduled for 8 November 2025 at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, Ashanti Regional Capital.
Nana Yaa Konadu Yiadom brings over 25 years of exceptional experience in journalism, broadcasting, and women’s empowerment to this important role. As an accomplished event host and broadcaster she has become a household name through her impactful shows including “Mpom Te Sen,” “Asomdwe Nkomo,” and “Wo Haw Sen.” Her coverage of major national events, including the funeral of the late Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III, demonstrates her professionalism and dedication to quality journalism.
As the Founder and Patron of NOWIB, Nana Yaa Konadu has been instrumental in advancing the cause of women in broadcasting and journalism across Ghana. Through NOWIB, she has mentored countless women journalists, advocated for gender equity in media, and created platforms for women’s voices to be heard in the industry.

The 29th GJA Media Awards Committee comprises eight distinguished members of Ghana’s media landscape, chaired by Mr Gabriel Bosompem, Former NMC Member. The committee will work from Thursday, 9 October to 3 November 2025, with the mandate to recognise and honour excellence in journalism. Other members include Kingsley Obeng-Kyere, 2012 GJA-PAV Ansah Journalist of the Year and Senior Manager at Ghana Broadcasting Corporation; Alhaji Salifu Abdul-Rahaman, Editor at Ghanaian Times; Jeorge Wilson Kingson, Executive Secretary at PRINPAG; David Andoh, President of Ghana Photojournalists Network and Photojournalist at Multimedia; Agnes Boye-Doe, Deputy News Editor at Ghana News Agency; Theresa Owusu Ako, Former Head of Radio News at GBC; and Samuel Bio, Night Editor at Graphic Communications Group Limited.
The Awards Committee will be inaugurated on Thursday, 9 October 2025 at Alisa Hotel at 1PM. The GJA Media Awards is an annual event organised by the Ghana Journalists Association to recognise and celebrate excellence in journalism, honouring journalists who perform creditably in their work and contribute significantly to the profession.
