Tamale’s Mayor, Abu Takoro, has issued a passionate plea for urgent government intervention as the city continues to endure a crippling water crisis that has left taps dry for over six months.
Addressing the media, Mayor Takoro painted a grim picture of the situation, stating that despite attempts by the Ghana Water Company to ration water, the efforts have fallen short, leaving residents in distress.
“The people of Tamale are suffering,” he lamented. “We urgently need the central government to step in and help restore water to our communities. This crisis cannot continue.”
The mayor emphasized the critical need for immediate and sustainable solutions, warning that the prolonged lack of access to clean water is severely affecting daily life and public health in the metropolis.
