Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, has been appointed Presidential Special Envoy for Reparations.
He will support President John Dramani Mahama in his role as African Union Champion and Leader of Reparations.
With a distinguished record in national and international service, Dr. Spio-Garbrah brings expertise in diplomacy, international communication, and economic policy.
His experience includes serving as Minister of Trade and Industry, Minister of Education, and Minister of Communications, as well as Ghana’s Ambassador to the US and Mexico.
The reparations agenda focuses on addressing historical injustices of slavery and colonialism, promoting fair redress and sustainable development.
Dr. Spio-Garbrah’s appointment is seen as a recognition of his commitment to Ghana and Africa’s development, positioning him to effectively advance the reparations dialogue.
