Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, begin a nationwide campaign tour as part of his quest to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2028 general elections.
A statement issued by the Bawumia Campaign Team on Tuesday, October 14, and signed by its Communications Director, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, said the tour will cover all 276 constituencies across the country.
The objective, according to the statement, is to deepen grassroots engagement and strengthen the party’s internal structures ahead of the NPP’s presidential primaries.
The statement added that Dr. Bawumia’s campaign will provide him with the opportunity to interact directly with polling station and electoral area coordinators, constituency executives, both current and former, as well as former Members of Parliament, former MMDCEs, patrons, and members of the Council of Elders.
The team described the tour as a reflection of Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to listening to party members, building consensus, and reinforcing the NPP’s foundation from the grassroots level.
Additionally, the campaign team reiterated its call for an issue-based and decorous campaign, expressing concern over the increasing use of personal attacks and insults in party communications.
“All communicators, supporters, and volunteers of the Bawumia Campaign are to refrain from personal attacks or derogatory remarks against other aspirants, their families, or their supporters,” the statement emphasized.
It further urged that all campaign discussions be rooted in facts, comparative analysis of ideas, and the track records of aspirants, stressing that the focus should remain on policies, competence, and electability.
