Krobo youth express disappointment in Mahama's appointees

Youth in the Krobo enclave of Eastern Region have expressed deep disappointment in appointees from their area in President Mahama’s administration.

The youth, under the umbrella of three groups – Dangme Youth for Development, Kloma-hengme Association, and Adolf Nomo – staged a demonstration to highlight the deplorable state of the Somanya to Kpong Highway.

Simon Teye, President of the Dangme Youth for Development Association, lamented that despite having key appointees such as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Eastern Regional Minister, the area has seen little development.

He cited the 13km road from Somanya to Kpong as a prime example, saying it has been left in a terrible state, causing hardship for shop owners, drivers, and passengers.

Tamatey Otu, Chairman of Kloma-hengme Association, echoed these sentiments, stating that the leaders of Kroboland have taken the people for granted for far too long.

He added that the attempt by political leaders to station drip machines on the road a day before the planned demonstration was a clear attempt to deceive them.

The youth have vowed to hold their leaders accountable, demanding better infrastructure and development for their area.
