Shot-stopper Ofori Antwi coy on Kotoko stay

Despite my positions, I’m still broke
Eric Ofori Antwi insists it is too early to consider the prospect of extending his contract with Asante Kotoko.
The 21-year-old former Amidaus Professionals player has been the first choice goalkeeper of the club since he joined in 2015, but had to battle with injury for a chunk part of this season, coupled with the superb form of Ernest Sowah.
And Ofori Antwi, who was mooted to be a prime target of Hearts of Oak prior the start of the season, declared in an interview with Asempa FM that he is yet take a decision on his future but would like to be involved in the team as the season finale draws closer.
“I think it’s too early to make that call,” says Ofori Antwi.
“Ultimately, I think every player would like to play regular for their club, but after being out for so long I know that my colleague did a great work in propelling the club to our current position on the table. I’m fully fit now and I know if I can get game time before the end of the season I prove my worth to the club.”
“I’m doing fine. I think I’ve improved since I came back from the injury and it will be good for my morale if I can get game time before the season ends because I know my capability. However, if it becomes more difficult in that aspect, I’ll see the next step to take. We’re in constant dialogue and something might happen, but I like I said, let’s finish the league and I’ll let everyone know of my decision.”
Asante Kotoko are tied on the same points (42) with bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak but lie 3rd position with a better head-to-head record.
