The Ministry of Education has extended a warm welcome to approximately 590,000 newly admitted first-year students as the 2025/2026 academic year officially begins.

According to a statement signed by Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Minister for Education, students are expected to report to their respective Senior High Schools (SHS) between Saturday, October 18, and Monday, October 20, 2025.

The Ministry congratulated the students on reaching this significant milestone in their academic journey and encouraged them to embrace the new chapter with dedication, discipline, and enthusiasm.

Appreciation was also extended to parents and guardians for their patience and support throughout the school placement process. The Ministry confirmed that all placement and residential arrangements for the academic year have now been finalized.

Parents have been advised to visit the assigned schools to complete enrollment procedures and assist their wards in settling in.

Reaffirming its commitment to equitable and inclusive education, the Ministry assured the public that necessary measures are in place to ensure a smooth and successful start to the school year nationwide.

“We once again welcome our young learners to the senior high school family and wish them the very best in their academic and personal development,” the statement concluded.
