The Special Aide to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Akosua Manu, has expressed confidence that the Bono East Region is fully behind Dr. Bawumia as he begins his constituency-level engagements across the country.

Speaking in an interview, Akosua Manu stated that Dr. Bawumia’s recent visit to the region revealed overwhelming support from New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates, who she said are ready to rally behind him in the upcoming January 31, 2026, Presidential Primaries.

According to her, although several candidates are in the race, the majority of delegates in Bono East have shown clear preference for Dr. Bawumia after understanding the truth behind the party’s 2024 election loss.

She explained that many within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have now come to understand that the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections was not because of Dr. Bawumia, as some have claimed.

According to her, the negative narratives and accusations directed at him were mere propaganda attempts aimed at damaging his reputation, but the truth has now become clear to most delegates

“Dr. Bawumia did his best during the 2024 elections, and through his engagements, he has been able to clarify misconceptions and win back the trust of delegates,” she added.

Akosua Manu further called on all NPP delegates nationwide to unite behind Dr. Bawumia, describing him as the most prepared and experienced candidate to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.

“Having served as Vice President, Dr. Bawumia possesses the knowledge, experience, and vision needed to lead the NPP back to power,” she emphasized.
