Paul Adom-Otchere drags OSP to Court over order to declare assets

Former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, has filed an application at the High Court seeking to overturn a directive by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) ordering him to declare his property and income.

In a statement posted on the OSP’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, October 28, Mr. Adom-Otchere’s legal team, led by former Attorney-General Godfred Dame, is challenging the directive issued on August 4, 2025, describing it as unlawful and an abuse of power.

The motion argues that the OSP’s order contravenes provisions of the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959) and its accompanying regulations.

The lawyers contend that the directive and alleged threats of “legal consequences,” “confiscation,” and “detention” violate their client’s rights.

Mr. Adom-Otchere, who is currently under investigation for suspected corruption and corruption-related offences in the award of a revenue assurance contract by GACL to Evattex Limited, is seeking several reliefs from the court.

He is asking the court to declare the OSP’s directive unlawful, restrain the office from detaining him should he decline to comply, and to set aside any enforcement of the order.

The OSP confirmed that the case has been filed and stated that it will respond appropriately in court.
