The National Ambulance Service (NAS) has cautioned the public about a surge in fake social media accounts impersonating the Service, particularly on TikTok, with the aim of defrauding unsuspecting individuals.

A statement issued and signed by Mr. Simmons Yussif Kewura, Deputy Director of Public Relations at the National Ambulance Service. noted that these fraudulent actors are circulating false recruitment advertisements under the account name “@nasghana,” claiming to be conducting an official recruitment exercise on behalf of NAS.

The Service categorically denied any link to the account, insisting that its activities are false, misleading, and must be ignored.

NAS emphasized that it has not authorized any individual, group, or third-party organization to solicit money, collect personal data, or receive job applications on its behalf.

The statement stressed that all legitimate recruitment exercises are publicly announced through NAS Headquarters and are conducted exclusively via the Service’s official communication channels.

The public has been advised not to make any payments or share personal information in connection with any supposed NAS recruitment.

NAS urged individuals to verify the authenticity of any recruitment or communication purported to come from the institution through its official contact points before taking action.

The Service listed its official communication platforms as info@nas.gov.gh for email inquiries and www.nas.gov.gh as its official website.

It also referenced its verified social media accounts: National Ambulance Service, Ghana on Facebook; The National Ambulance Service – Ghana on X (formerly Twitter); National Ambulance Service, Ghana on Instagram; officialnasgh on TikTok; and NationalAmbulanceServiceGhana on YouTube.

The statement reaffirmed NAS’s commitment to protecting the public, including safeguarding citizens from fraud and misinformation as part of its core mandate of saving lives.
