The Government of Ghana has officially announced a full waiver of visa fees for all participants traveling from the diaspora to attend the 2025 Diaspora Summit, scheduled for December 19–20 at the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a recent statement said the gesture forms part of Ghana’s renewed commitment to Pan-Africanism and efforts to deepen cooperation with Africans and people of African descent worldwide. Participants are encouraged to visit the nearest Ghana Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence to secure the free visa before arriving in Ghana.

According to the Ministry, the initiative is aimed at easing travel processes and encouraging broader participation in the Summit, which seeks to promote partnerships for development and strengthen global African networks. Online registration for the event remains open until Monday, December 8.

The announcement also highlighted an updated list of countries whose nationals already enjoy visa-free entry to Ghana under existing reciprocal Visa Waiver Agreements. These include Barbados, Seychelles, South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda, Jamaica, Namibia, and others. Holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports from countries such as Brazil, China, Cuba, Germany, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates also continue to enjoy visa-free travel.

The Ministry says it looks forward to welcoming delegates from across the world and urges all participants to complete their visa processes ahead of the Summit. Enquiries may be channeled through the Ministry’s official communication lines and website.
