Itrain, Xborg City and BBall Unite Academy clinch titles at thrilling 2025 JNR ABL finals

The 2025 Junior ABL Finals delivered a vibrant climax at Ghud Park on Saturday, December 6, 2025, capping a season that began with intense playoff battles.

Young basketball talents from across Accra showcased their growth and grit across the U10, U13 and U16 Boys and Girls divisions.

The road to the finals featured exciting matchups, including U16 Boys clashes between Xborg City Academy and Wolves Academy, as well as Itrain Academy and Biekro B Academy.

In the U13 Boys division, BBall Unite Academy faced BSA Academy, while the U13 Girls category saw Xborg City Academy take on Dubs Basketball. The event also marked the kickoff of the JNR ABL U10 Mini Tournament, adding even more excitement to the competition.

On finals day, Itrain Basketball Academy emerged champions of the Boys U16 category after an outstanding all-season performance that cemented their status as one of Ghana’s most promising youth basketball teams. In the Girls U16 division, Xborg City Basketball Academy displayed exceptional discipline and teamwork to secure the title.

In the U13 Boys division, BBall Unite Academy continued their dominant run, lifting the championship trophy after a series of impressive performances that highlighted their depth and chemistry.

The grand finale also featured special awards presentations, conducted by YFM’s Head of Music, DJ Kess, and Happy FM’s Emmanuel Fosu-Appiah, who honoured athletes, coaches and teams for exemplary performances throughout the season.

Elegant Ghana musician, Efya Nocturnal graced the event and empoweres the girls who took to the stage to display their skills.
