Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has presented the Bawku Conflict Mediation Report to President John Dramani Mahama, emphasizing the focus on facts for peace, not assigning blame.
In his address, the Asantehene stated, “I’m here not to give a judgement of who was wrong and who was right. I’m here to present the facts as they are. For us to have peace.”
The mediation process began approximately two and half years ago, initiated by Mahama’s predecessor, addressing a conflict that claimed lives and threatened national security. Mahama reaffirmed the mandate upon taking office.
The Asantehene thanked the President and his predecessor for the confidence in entrusting him with the mediation, highlighting the report’s findings and recommendations for sustainable peace in Bawku.
