The School of Economics and Management at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China has formally established an international alumni network, bringing together graduates from different parts of the world under a structured platform for collaboration and engagement.

The alumni community gathered in Chengdu to mark the formation of the international chapter of the school’s Alumni Association, an initiative designed to promote knowledge exchange, mentorship and professional partnerships among members.

The establishment of the network comes at a time when global cooperation is increasingly important, as technology, economic realignments and shifting development priorities reshape institutions and industries worldwide.

Speaking at the event, Vice President of the association, Ambassador Edward Boateng, emphasized the importance of alumni networks in sustaining long-term relationships beyond the classroom and advancing shared goals.

He noted that alumni associations have become powerful platforms for dialogue and change, connecting people, resources and opportunities across borders.

The international alumni network is expected to create new avenues for collaboration between UESTC and African countries, particularly in technology, education, infrastructure, agriculture and innovation.

The gathering also reinforced the relevance of UESTC in shaping a future defined by data, connectivity, artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing.

Organisers said the international chapter will strengthen ties between the university and its global alumni community, while supporting professional growth and institutional development.

The leadership of the School of Economics and Management was commended for the initiative, with hopes that it will enhance the visibility and credibility of UESTC in Ghana and across Africa.
