The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has received a high-level Lebanese security delegation in Accra as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance collaboration against transnational crimes.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, February 17, the Minister disclosed that the meeting focused on deepening cooperation between Ghana and Lebanon in tackling emerging security threats, including cyber fraud, drug trafficking, money laundering, and other cross-border criminal activities.

The Lebanese delegation was led by H.E. Ali Samih Jaafar, Consul General of Ghana in Lebanon.

Other members included Brigadier General Morshed El Hajj Sleiman, Deputy Director of State Security in Lebanon; Colonel Ayman Machmouchi, Head of the Drug Repression Bureau; and Lieutenant Colonel Salah El Hajj, Head of the Office of the Deputy State Security.

According to the Interior Minister, the visit signifies the shared commitment of both countries to address transnational crimes through closer collaboration and intelligence sharing.

He emphasized that the fight against cross-border criminal networks can only be effectively won through sustained international cooperation, noting that security challenges such as cybercrime and drug trafficking require coordinated global responses.

The engagement is expected to pave the way for strengthened security partnerships between Ghana and Lebanon, reinforcing efforts to safeguard the safety and stability of both nations.
