The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has suspended its nationwide strike after the government appealed for a two-week window to resolve outstanding concerns.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Executive Secretary, Isaac Bampoe announced that members have been directed to return to work on March 24.

He explained that the National Executive Committee (NEC) reached the decision after considering the government’s 14-day request to address issues relating to the association’s salary structure and conditions of service.

“The National Executive Committee of CLOGSAG has considered the government’s appeal to address our concerns. We have therefore decided to suspend the nationwide strike and instruct our members to resume work by March 24, 2026,” he stated.

Despite suspending the strike, the association’s leadership indicated that it will not appear before the National Labour Commission, citing ongoing legal action against the Commission.

The industrial action, which began on March 9, 2026, was to demand the full implementation of a memorandum of understanding that provides a separate salary structure for staff within the Civil and Local Government Services.
