The President of the Gabonese Republic, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, has arrived in Ghana for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
President Oligui Nguema arrived in Accra on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, and was received at the Accra International Airport by President John Dramani Mahama. Also present to welcome the Gabonese leader were the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, other Ministers of State, senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as traditional and military dignitaries.
A Guard of Honour mounted by the Ghana Army was inspected in honour of the visiting President.
The visit underscores the longstanding cordial relations between Ghana and Gabon and reflects the shared commitment of both countries to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the visit, Presidents Mahama and Oligui Nguema are expected to hold high-level bilateral talks on strengthening political, economic and diplomatic ties while exploring new areas of collaboration to promote regional integration and sustainable development.
President Oligui Nguema is also expected to participate in a number of official engagements aimed at reinforcing the longstanding friendship between Ghana and Gabon.
The visit is expected to further consolidate relations between the two countries and reaffirm their commitment to promoting peace, stability, economic cooperation and prosperity across the African continent.
