The Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) has appointed veteran journalist and sports media professional Prince Ayim Brown as its new Communication Officer, effective 7th September, 2026.

The appointment was announced by the Federation’s Secretary-General, Mr. Kankpenuba Peter Nuntaa Wisdom, and is for an initial two-year period.

In his new role, Mr. Brown will lead the Federation’s communication and publicity efforts, working closely with the leadership, Regional Associations, clubs and media partners to strengthen public engagement and visibility for the sport. His responsibilities will include coordinating the Federation’s official communications, managing its social media and digital platforms, documenting activities and competitions, preparing press releases and other media content, and promoting the growth of Taekwondo in Ghana.

Mr. Brown brings more than 15 years of experience in journalism, spanning broadcast reporting, sports coverage, news production and media management. He has worked extensively with Global Media Alliance, serving as a Presenter and Producer at Happy FM and ETV Ghana, where he rose to become Acting Head of Sports and Co-Host of the Happy Morning Show. He also serves as Associate Editor of Happy Ghana.

He previously held senior newsroom and sports roles at Amansan Television (ATV), including Acting Head of News, Head of Sports, and Team Lead for the station’s 2016 Elections coverage. Over the course of his career, he has covered major sporting events both locally and internationally, including the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, the 2026 African Athletics Championship, the 2023 African Games, and the 2018 WAFCON.

Mr. Brown is a member of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and the International Sports Press Association (AIPS). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Strategic Communications from the African University College of Communications (AUCC).

The Ghana Taekwondo Federation says it is confident that Mr. Brown’s wealth of journalism and sports media experience will strengthen its communication systems, deepen media engagement, and help tell the story of Taekwondo in Ghana more effectively.

Accepting the appointment, Mr. Brown expressed appreciation to the Federation’s leadership for the confidence reposed in him, and pledged to work collaboratively with stakeholders to promote the sport and project the Federation’s achievements.

All Regional Associations, clubs, athletes, coaches, officials, media partners and other stakeholders have been encouraged to channel communication and publicity-related matters through the Communication Officer’s office.

The Federation also used the opportunity to express its appreciation to the former Public Relations Officer for his service.
